Free Rabies Vaccinations Spark Excitement at Balangan Expo 2025, Residents Eager to Protect Their Pets

The Balangan Expo 2025 is offering more than just entertainment and regional showcases—it’s also delivering a meaningful public service for animal lovers. The Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Office (DKP3) of Balangan Regency has launched a free rabies vaccination program for pets, drawing enthusiastic crowds since the opening day of the event.

From the very start, the DKP3 booth has been bustling with residents lining up to get their dogs, cats, and even pet civets vaccinated against rabies. The strong turnout highlights the community’s growing awareness of animal health and the importance of rabies prevention.

“This program is a huge help. We can protect our pets without spending a dime. Thank you, DKP3!” said Dina, a resident of Paringin, who brought her two cats to the event.

Acting Head of DKP3 Balangan, represented by Head of the Livestock Division Mariani, emphasized that the initiative reflects the local government’s commitment to animal welfare and public health.

“We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity. Rabies is a deadly disease, but it’s preventable through vaccination. So come and bring your pets to our booth,” she urged on Monday, April 14, 2025.

Mariani also noted that only healthy animals are eligible for the vaccinations. The service is open to the general public and will be available throughout the duration of the Balangan Expo 2025.

This initiative is part of the Balangan Regency Government’s broader mission to raise public awareness about the importance of animal health and to prevent zoonotic diseases like rabies. By integrating public health efforts into a popular local event, the government is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of both animals and their owners.
